Professors – lecturers from Brigham Young University in a music exchange at NUAE

On May 13th, the delegation from Brigham Young University, including Diane Thueson Reich (soprano), Darrell Babidge (baritone) and Scott Holden (piano) visited NUAE and participated in a music exchange program with the university’s lecturers and students.

Famous pieces of music written by well-known composers such as W.A.Mozart, R.Schumnn, M.Ravel, R.Strass, F.Schubert, S.Rachmaninov and G.Gershwin were performed, namely Pa-pa-pa-pa; Hai già Vinta la causa; Porgi, amor; Là ci darem la mano; Arabeske,Op.18; Und du wirst mein Gebieter sein; Chanson Romanesque; Chanson espique; Chanson à boire…

Sopranist Diane Thueson Reich has appeared in major operatic roles such as Mimi, Marguerite, Anna Thulove… She also has performed with famous symphony orchestras in Russia, USA… Diane Thueson Reich earned her doctor and master degree in Indiana University. She has been the Director of Opera at Central Washington University.

Darrell Babidge (baritone) obtained the certificate of Royal Northern College of Music and Manhattan School of Music. He has worked with renowned theaters such as Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Metropolitan Opera, London Philharmonic and Carnegie Hall.

Pianist Scott Holden is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Manhattan School of Music and The Juilliard School, where he was awarded the Horowitz Prize. He has played piano in many countries all over the world. His concerts and chamber performances were broadcast by NPR, NBC, CBC ...
