The Party and Vietnam – Laos Youth exhibition launched

            On March 10, 2011, the opening ceremony of the exhibition under the theme “The Party and Vietnam – Laos Youth” was held at Vietnamese Cultural Center (Pangkham, Vientiane, Laos). This was considered as one of the most significant activities to celebrate the success of 11th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and 9th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party. The exhibition featured 80 outstanding paintings, selected from 300 students’ works of 3 art educational institutions:  National University of Art Education (Vietnam), Lao National School of Fine Arts (Laos) and Lao Pedagogy College of Arts (Laos).

The Party and Vietnam – Laos Youth exhibition was honored to welcome the representatives of the two countries. On the Laos side, these included Member of the Politburo, Standing Deputy Prime Minister of Laos Somsavad Lengsavath; Vice Minister of Culture and Information Bosengkham Vongdara. On the Vietnamese side, these included Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Ta Minh Chau; Party Secretary, Rector of NUAE, Associate Professor Doctor Pham Le Hoa, Director of the Vietnamese Cultural Center in Laos Dr. Pham Hong Toan with officials, teachers, students from universities and colleges of arts from both sides.

The exhibition displayed works on various panting materials (pastel, oil, drawing…), highlighting VietnamLaos special relationship that has been formed for many years. The paintings with beautiful color, attracting layout and fresh ideas presented patriotism, national spirit, the sense of preservation of the close friendship between the two nations.

This exhibition was the first activity, starting a set of cultural activities to welcome upcoming 9th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party. Besides, the exhibition played the role of cultural link to help other nations get better understanding about the two parties, the Vietnam - Laos friendship in the eyes of the youth of the two countries, bringing the enjoyment to the visitors. Among the most outstanding works: LaosVietnam solidarity (Duong Ma Li),  Strengthening cooperation (U Dom Xay), LaosVietnam friendship (Do Thi Van), Solid relationship ( U Pe Kha)

01 first prize, 02 second prizes, 02 third prizes and 04 consolation prizes were awarded. The exhibition lasted till March 25th.
