Introducing Folk songs in lower secondary schools

In the evening of 15 December, 2010 a folk songs musical exchange between the three secondary schools: Van Khe, Khuong Thuong, To Hoang was organized by NUAE and the MOET. To Hoang secondary school was the host. This activity is one of series in order to improve and stimulate secondary education under the slogan “Establishing Child Friendly schools, Active students”. This belongs to Support Vietnamese folk songs into the second lower secondary education development project by NUAE and MOET.

The festival was considered as the way for secondary students to show their love for Vietnamese folk songs. The success of the performance exchange was the successful outcomes of the project in introducing folk songs into the lower secondary education in implementation of emulation  movement “Establishing child friendly schools and active students’. Folks songs clubs in general and folk songs singing festivals in particular have played an important role in preserving and developing folk songs in Vietnam.

The students attending the performance could also have more understanding on typical folk songs through various forms of performance.
