On the 11th September 2018 at Hungary National Academy of Public Administration in Budapest, there took place a Rectors' Conference of Vietnam and Hungary Universities. Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong attended and deliveried the opening speech. More than twenty principals of leading universities in Vietnam, including representatives of the leaders of the National University of Art education attended the conference.

Along with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the senior Vietnamese delegation also had comrades in the Politbureau, leaders of the Party's committees, the State and twenty presidents of Vietnamese universities. On the other side, there were Mr. Mihály Varga - Deputy Prime Minister and over twenty principals and leaders of leading universities in Hungary.

At the opening of the conference, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong emphased and appreciated the spirit of cooperation in education and training as well as many other fields between the two countries Vietnam - Hungary in the past. The Secretary General would like to through the educational cooperation between the two countries, higher education will create great breakthroughs, contributing to the training of human resources of high quality between the two countries.

On behalf of the Hungarian State and Government, Mr. Mihály Varga - Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the spirit of cooperation between the two countries in the past, in the education and training. Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the intelligence, the spirit of study and hard work of many generations of Vietnamese students studying in Hungary.
Under the witness of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the delegation of Vietnam, the rectors of the typical universities of the two countries have signed a cooperation agreement.
So far, over 70 years of diplomatic relations, more than 3,000 Vietnamese students have been trained in Hungary, many of whom have held important positions in the State administration, in many fields of science, culture and arts, business, etc. From 2018 onwards, in addition to maintaining and increasing the number of scholarships for Vietnamese students, the Hungarian Government will pay attention to promoting the training in Vietnamese, besides Hungarian and English.
With the guidelines and exchanges signed on cooperation training, this conference opened up a great opportunity for Vietnamese staff, lecturers and students to exchange, learn and develop the specialisation. The cooperation in the field of education and training is an important bridge contributing to grow the reliable and stabilised cooperation between the two countries. According to a statement by Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha at the conference, the outcome of the conference will be a driving force and a milestone in the bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Hungary on education and training.
After the occasion of the official visit to the Russian Federation on September 8, Secretary General Nguyen Phu Trong of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the delegation left Moscow and had an official visit to Hungary at the invitation of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. In the delegation there was a delegation from the Ministry of Education and Training led by Minister Phung Xuan Nha, together with leaders of some units of the Ministry, the principles of leading universities in Vietnam.
