Symposium under theme “International integration in post graduate training”

Following the Resolution No 29-NQ/TW on the fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training, on August 12, National University of Art Education organized a symposium entitled “International integration in post graduate training” by Prof.Dr. Tran Van Nhung – General Secretary of the State Council for Professor Title of Vietnam. The symposium was a part of the schedule of the Faculty of Post-graduate Studies, which aimed to offer PhD and master’s students of the university in-depth understanding of education in the context of the socialist-oriented market economy and international integration.

Attending the meeting, there were representatives of the State Council for Professor Title: Prof.Dr. Tran Van Nhung – General Secretary, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Manh Nhi – Chief of Office, Dr. Ngo Quang Thang – Head of the Office of Professional Affairs, Mr. Nguyen Khac Co – Head of Office of General Administration. From NUAE side, there were Prof.Dr. Pham Le Hoa – NUAE’s Rector, Heads of the university’s faculties and departments and its PhD and master’s students.

 

The symposium attracts attention of PhD and master’s students

 

Prof.Dr. Pham Le Hoa in his opening speech warmly welcomed Prof.Dr. Tran Van Nhung and other members of the State Council of Professor Title. He said that this event would be a great opportunity for NUAE’s PhD and master’s students to listen to the lecture by the experienced and erudite professor. It could help them to improve their knowledge of learning methods and conducting research to meet the requirements of master’s and doctoral degree programs.

Addressing the meeting, Prof.Dr.Tran Van Nhung expressed his delight to see the development of the university, which is now one of the most prestigious institutions in the field of art education with a huge number of staff and students. His lecture stressed on the importance of art education in the context of international integration and the connection between art and science. Furthermore, he affirmed that in order to implement the resolution No 29 – NQ/TW, the curriculum and textbook reform should be based on UNESCO’s four pillars of learning: learning to know, learning to do, learning to be and learning to live together.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Manh Nhi continued the presentation by talking about education management. He emphasized the role of learners in education renovation in Vietnam. “In order to meet the international standards of post-graduate training, each learner must enhance his position first”, he said. From his point of view, PhD and master’s students should strengthen their foreign language competence for information searching and communication in the current context. He also mentioned that the country’s renovation and development required sound policies on education management along with creating learning society, ensuring the favorable conditions for the international integration.

After the presentation, the PhD and master’s students had a chance to raise questions about discussed topic. Responding to those questions, Prof.Dr. Tran Van Nhung highlighted the significance of foreign languages and technology in post-graduate training. He stated that apart from professional development, foreign language competence and computer skills were remarkably important to fulfill the requirements of international cooperation in art and culture education.

The symposium provided the audience with useful information about the developed education systems in the world and the necessary things to do to address the international integration.
