Startup conference at NUAE

National University of Art Education and National Council of Education and Human Resources Development co-organized a startup conference at NUAE’s Music Performing Center on August 21st. The event was a significant activity to motivate NUAE’s students and support them in their career choice.

The conference was honored to welcome Dr. Tran Dinh Chau – Director, Chief of Office of National Council of Education and Human Resource Development, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Thuy from The Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences and two speakers Duong Duy Bach and Bui Quang Huy from Wake-up English Center. From NUAE side, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Trinh Hoai Thu – Deputy Rector, members of Executive Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of National University of Art Education and more than 300 NUAE’s students.

Adressing the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Trinh Hoai Thu highly appreciated the initiative of organizing this meaningful event. She shared her hope that it would be an exciting forum for the young entrepreneurs and the administrators to exchange creative ideas.

The program started with the lecture under the theme “Enhancing students’ capacity” (follow resolution No. 29-NQ/TW on education reform) by Dr. Tran Dinh Chau. Talking about the main points of education reform in Vietnam, Dr. Chau emphasized on the changes in textbooks and teaching methods… From his experience in education field, Dr. Tran Dinh Chau had listed 10 necessary soft skills that learners should acquire such as self study, creative thinking, problem solving, decision making …

In the next part, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Thuy from The Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences presented the theory of Multiple Intelligence and its positive impacts on pedagogical students’ learning styles and reading culture for students. She underlined the role of beliefs and books in people’s lives. Dr. Thuy said that beliefs were very important to succeed while reading was the key to improve knowledge. Moreover, choosing the appropriate materials to read was suggested to be the decisive factor in reading by the presenter.

The audience also listened to two young speakers Duong Duy Bach and Bui Quang Huy from Wake-up English Center. Bach and Huy are examples of Vietnamese youngsters, who gained success at very young age. That determination is the key to success was the main message delivered by the two speakers. Duong Duy Bach shared his opinion that students now should spend more time in improving their knowledge and enhancing professional skills. On the other hand, speaker Bui Quang Huy stressed the importance of learning English in the current context. In his view point, learning should take place everyday and practicing regularly could help learners improve their English.

At the conference, other questions concerned by the students who will soon enter the workforce such as how to write a good CV, challenges and chances that graduates might encounter were also discussed. This startup conference not only provided NUAE’s students with useful information but also created for them a chance to receive advice from the education experts and the young successful entrepreneurs, inspiring them in realizing their dreams.
