NUAE’s bright “Morning Stars”

With the outstanding achievements during 45 years of establishment and development, National University of Art Education has become one of the most prestigious institutions in the field of art education in general and vocal training in particular. The key to this success, together with the contribution of the senior teaching staff is the effort of young and enthusiastic lecturers, who not only play the role of dedicated teachers but also shine at various music stages.

1. Nguyen Tuan Anh – Vice Dean of Faculty of Vocal Music

Nguyen Tuan Anh was born on July 31st, 1980 in Quang Ninh province – the hometown of famous singers such as People’s Artist Le Dung, People’s Artist Quang Tho, Meritorious Artist Mai Tuyet, Meritorious Artist Duc Long … Anh became famous for his massive collection of prizes: first prize at Quang Ninh Student Singing Contest, silver medal at National Student Singing Contest 2002, second prize at Quang Ninh Television Singing Contest 2003, first prize at Quang Ninh Television Singing Contest 2005, first prize of chamber music at Sao Mai National Television Singing Contest 2005. After graduation form Vietnam National Acedemy of Music in 2008, Anh started his teaching career as a lecturer of Faculty of In-service Training and Joint Training Programs at NUAE. Continuing his success in chamber music, in 2009 Anh gained the first prize at 4th National Opera and Chamber Music Competition. With his great contribution to the music education at NUAE, he was appointed as the Vice Dean of Faculty of Vocal Music. Besides teaching, Anh has joined in many cultural exchange activities as a singer and a judge of singing contests in Vietnam and in other countries.

2. Do Huong Giang – Vice Dean of Faculty of Vocal Music

Winning the first prize at Hanoi Beautiful Voice in 2001, Do Huong Giang did not choice to become a singer. Since 2006, she has worked as a lecturer at National University of Art Education. Working in an educational environment, besides helping students to improve their vocal techniques, she always reminds them about professional ethics to become qualified music teachers. By a great experience in teaching and performance, she has successfully inspired her strong passion on music to the students. Giang’s effort was confirmed by her students’ achievement in learning and at difference music competitions.    

3. Dao Tien Loi - Lecturer of Faculty of Vocal Music

Dao Tien Loi is among NUAE’s most outstanding young lecturers with his music awards: third prize at Hanoi Bautiful Voice 2003, third prize at Hanoi Television Singing Contest 2004, second prize at Sao Mai National Television Singing Contest 2005. In addition to creating new musical products, Loi coordinates with his colleagues to run S-music Centre, providing training classes for those who want to persue singing career. Thanks to his wholehearted support and instruction, Loi’s trainees and students has also achieved initial success in their chosen field.

4. Hoang Quoc Tuan – Lecturer of Faculty of Vocal Music

Hoang Quoc Tuan was born on August 8th, 1982 in Quang Ninh province. In 2006, he won golden medal at 9th National Student Singing Contest. One year latter, Tuan was selected to perform on the stage of the northern regional final of Sao Mai National Television Singing Contest. After graduation from Vietnam National Academy of Music, he started teaching at National University of Art Education and actively joined in performing activities and other music contests. In 2013, with his solo song “Mother”, Tuan contributed to the success of NUAE troup in Public Art Festival (organized by Department of Local culture, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism).

5. Tran Tan Phuong – Lecturer of Faculty of Vocal Music

After the entrance exam to Vietnam National Academy of Music in 2001, Phuong impressed the audience by her achievement at the most popular music contests such as National Folk Songs Festival 2005 (silver medal), Hanoi Beautiful Voice 2006 (first prize) and Sao Mai National Television Singing Contest 2007 (top 10 for chamber music category). Apart from being a lecturer and a singer, early this year Phuong has participated in organizing musical programs. One of the most successful among those is Hanoi mit Rome – a miniconcert of Series Belle Duette, which was highly appreciated by experts and music lovers.  

6. Doan Thuy Trang – Lecturer of Faculty of Vocal Music

Graduating from Central Pedagogic College of Music and Painting (former name of National University of Art Education), Doan Thuy Trang furthered her study at Vietnam National Academy of Music. After graduation, Trang stated working at NUAE as a lecturer. In 2011, she won the first prize at Sao Mai National Television Singing Contest for pop category. Continuing this success, in 2013 Trang released MV “Tình yêu màu nắng”. The MV ranked among the most favourite in difference music charts at that time. Recently, her first album “193” which consists of 7 pop songs was released and has received compliments for its good preparation and high quality.

Inheriting the fine tradition of the previous generations, NUAE’s young lecturers are trying their best to contribute to the development of the university in particular and to promote the music education in general.
