Teaching staff plays a vital role in assuring the teaching quality of any universities or educational institutions. A teacher in the field of art is not only a knowledge conveyor but also a student’s companion.
In 2006, when Central Pedagogic College of Music and Painting received its university status and changed its name to National University of Art, there were only 146 staff and lecturers (including 28 masters, 69 bachelors). Realizing the importance of the staff in the development of the university, NUAE’s leaders have emphasized on increasing the quality and quantity of the teaching staff. After 9 years of sustained efforts, the university now has more than 390 full-time staff, comprising 07 Associate Professor and Professor, 36 Senior Lecturers, 16 Doctors, 212 Masters, 01 meritorious artist, 04 meritorious teachers.

NUAE’s leaders have created many opportunities for the staff to study oversea to enrich their professional knowledge, established thematic research groups and organized experience exchange program with other universities of the same field. Thanks to this support, the number of NUAE’s academic and administrative staff who obtains high academic degree has gradually increased over the years.
Furthermore, in order to enhance the professional qualifications of the staff members, the Board of Rectors always encourage them to actively engage in practical research and conduct scientific research at different levels. As a result, a number of ministry-level and state-level scientific research were carried out by the university’s staff. Besides, the university’s lecturers also compile and publish course books and other materials to serve the need of the teaching situation. New contents have been included to the teaching programs as well to meet the demand of the current education.
Since establishment, the university’s staff has significantly grown in both size and quality. Pursuant to the decision No 317/QĐ – BGDĐT, dated on January 30th, 2015 by the Ministry of Education and Training, NUAE is authorized to offer doctoral program in Theory and methodology of music teaching. The decision affirms the position of NUAE in the field of art education nationwide. The staff members always bear in mind that they have to work in the most serious and efficient manner under the sound guidance of the Board of Rectors to contribute to the common development of the university, following its slogan Solidarity – Self esteem – Creativeness – Development.
