The second Kumoho Asiana-Vietnam scholarship ceremony

In the morning of 28 October 2008, in Daewoo Hotel, Hanoi, the second Kumoho Asiana - Vietnam Scholarship Ceremony was held by Kumoho Asiana Group from the Republic of Korea to award 140 Vietnamese students. It is a great honor that among these students, a number of students of National University of Art Education were selected to receive scholarshipsthis time.
Taking part in the ceremony, among more than 150 invited guests, are Dr. Sc. Tran Van Nhung - Deputy Minister of Ministry of Education and Training, Mr Shin Hoom - Vice President of Kumoho Asiana Group, Mr Im Hong Jae - Korean Embassy in Vietnam and on the side of National University of Art Education is Dr. Sc. Pham Le Hoa - Rector, the representative of University’s Leaders.

At the ceremony, not only 126 students selected from 18 universities in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue and Da Nang, Da Lat but also 14 others who participated in the final round of “the first Korean language speaking contest” held last July were granted the certificates of their scholarships. Among the students who received scholarships this time, there are 5 students coming from National University of Art Education. These students will be received scholarships until they graduate from their universities.

The leader of Kumoho Asiana Group expressed that “with a wish to contribute to the future development and the increase of the friendly relationship between Vietnam and Korea, the Group is donating to support art and cultural activities and granting scholarships to assist and encourage Vietnamese young talents.”
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Sc. Tran Van Nhung - Deputy minister of Ministry of Education and Training appreciated Kumoho Asiana Group’s activities with respect to assisting and encouraging young talents for Vietnam. The Scholarship Fund’ activities have assisted students to ease financial difficulties, more especially, that the leader of the Group handed presents (scholarships) over to each student is an invaluable encouragement to students.

Beside granting scholarships, Kumoho Asiana Group will actively increase cultural exchange programs and social activities such as support cultural and art activities in Vietnam. This Group will also hold Korean language speaking contests which aims at bringing more opportunities for Vietnamese students to study Korean in the Republic of Korea.
