“Meet and Greet” - A concert and workshop of National University of Art Education Band and Surabhi Ensemble, United States

    In the afternoon of January 8, 2019, the National University of Art Education organized a musical exchange workshop between Surabhi Ensemble band and its staff, lecturers, and students.

      Attending the workshop were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Dang Phuong - Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University and the Board of Management, leaders of units, officers, lecturers and especially the presence of numerous students.

Delivering the opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Dang Phuong expressed a pleasure to welcome artists in this exciting and extremely meaningful music exchange workshop. As one of the leading specialized art and science research institutions in the country, Assoc. Prof. Dr Phuong also shared about international integration exchanges in the field of training and artistic performance of National University of Art Education, especially with artists from the United States.

Performance of Surabhi Ensemble Band

      Surabhi Ensemble Band came from Chicago but has a distinctive Asian style, a typical representation of the wonderful combination of sound and movement, in particular, a blend of modern music and traditional musical instruments with distinctive folk music tunes create an unmistakable distinction. During more than a decade of activity and development, the color and style of Surabhi has left an unforgettable mark on the hearts of American people and many countries around the world whenever the group goes on tour.

      The band performed sequentially 3 types of Indian music, Middle Eastern music and Spanish music combined with flexible and soft dance movements with traditional cultural characteristics. In response to the band's enthusiasm, the students of the National University of Art Education have also shown their best in the music exchange performance. All artists and audiences seemed to be one on the stage, erasing all cultural, linguistic, religious and race gaps.
