Ha Long Bay is a large area, in which occur various socio-economic activities of different agencies. Ha Long Bay’s values have been relatively well preserved over 20 years after the recognition of UNESCO as a world heritage site. However, the limitation in the sustainable tourism development and service quality has remained. The infrastructure of the Ha Long Bay did not meet the demand of the tourism industry and the full potential of a world heritage site. Studying the management of other world heritage sites in Vietnam, namely Complex of Hue Monuments, Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park and Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, Duong had analyzed the current situation of Ha Long Bay and factors affecting its management. Finally, she came up with 10 solutions to address the requirement of the preservation and sustainable growth of the Ha Long Bay World Heritage Site.
